Who should I inform before and after my
move?
Before and after the move there are some
duties to be performed to allow to the private and
Public Bodies to know our new dwelling-place. It is
better to organize everything to make our life less
complicated, giving the priority to some Bodies not to
run up against legal problems.
The first thing you have to do is to
inform the Tax-Register Office on the variation of the
residence for tax purposes in the commune of the old
dwelling-place. It is sufficient a registered letter
with advice of receipt. The domiciliation for
tax-purpose will be 60 days after receiving the receipt.
If you have the VAT-number you have to inform the direct
tax-office, filling a specific form.

The Post Office has a service
that deviates automatically all letters to a new
address, different from that one to which letters
have been sent. The service lasts three months and
it could be renewed once for other months. To
activate this service you can go the post office,
bringing the identity card or the certificate of
residence (for all family). |
When you have to give notice of
termination of contract with the Water Works Office,
in case of a new house in a building jointly owned, you
will do nothing because usually heading is registered to
the same building jointly owned. On the contrary, if the
contract is registered to the old owner, then you need
to fill a demanding form of users’ passage. Remember to
send a letter to the Water Works Office to delete a
registration of an old contract.
Remember to give notice of termination of
the old supplying contracts for Light and Gas.
Sign new contracts with the Light and Gas companies,
taking care of read the meters before moving.
Finally, for the Telephone
subscription it is necessary to call the telephone
company at least a week in advance (for Telecom the
number is 187). If you do not change the code number,
perhaps you can have the same number, sparing on costs.
Documents, automatically changed after
changing the residence are: gun licence, passport,
employment card, various subscriptions, ICI, recruits
office, electoral office, identity card. |
